On Tuesday , Aug . 2 the Morgan Hill Police Department ( MHPD ) is preparing for the City ’ s National Night Out event and invites everyone to spend a great summer evening with your family , friends , and neighbors . MHPD has participated in the nationwide event for many years and is looking forward to another great evening at the Civic Center Plaza .
Meet police officers and firefighters , see police and fire vehicles on display , meet Morgan Hill ' s SWAT Team , Morgan Hill ' s K9 Officer Bosco , enjoy kids ' activities , giveaways , and prizes .
“ It is a great evening for all of us . Our officers love it as much as the adults and children attending do ,” says Chief Shane Palsgrove . “ Seeing residents come out and enjoy the fun , strolling through displays , getting to know our officers and professional staff is what we strive to do every day of the year . This event is a real highlight of the summer . It encapsulates our desire to stay in touch , be visible and always approachable with everyone in Morgan Hill .”
Launched nationally in August 1984 , National Night Out is , at its core , about neighborhood and community camaraderie . For more information on the event in general visit natw . org .
