With so much support from the community and the public at large , Kneaded Bakery decided that now was the perfect time to rebrand themselves . What started as , “ Bettering lives one pastry at a time ” has now become , “ Bettering lives one pastry or catering at a time .” They ’ re relaunching with new logos , new uniforms , a new website , a bigger social media presence , and lots more in store for their virtual classes and catering .
The not-so-secret secret ingredient to Culinary Academy and Kneaded Bakery ’ s success has always been the kids . Chef Carlos has involved the youth in every step of the rebrand and relaunch process , from creating the slogan and logos to creating the website . Both Briggs and Southy , who graduated from the program and are spearheading much of Kneaded ’ s expansion , agree that it is this openness that makes Kneaded Bakery special . “ Kneaded is so different from anything I ’ ve ever worked with or worked as ,” Southy said of his experiences there . They also feel that going through the program themselves helped them maintain the spirit of running Kneaded as a non-profit first and a business second . “ For a regular business it would be just ludicrous to put so many of your resources into this sort of thing , but it ’ s such a mission-first way of running things and the community has always seen that and taken care of us ,” said Briggs .
Culinary Academy and Kneaded Bakery have always set out to prove that their kids aren ’ t just good enough for the job , but that they ’ re better for coming through the program . Kneaded Bakery ’ s rebrand and relaunch , and Chef and his team ’ s versatility and resilience , prove that beyond a doubt . No matter the obstacle , they will continue to prove that in the future . “ I ’ m not a rich person , so I can ’ t ever give financially as much , but if I can donate my time , my hours or guidance or skills in any way , I ’ m definitely going to do that instead ,” Chef Carlos said . Clearly you can expect more great things from Kneaded .
