Spring Fashion Trends for 2022
According to fashion magazines “ Marie Claire ” and “ Glamour ,” white is the hottest color for spring , particularly stark white with fabulous accents . The white pantsuit is especially in vogue , but white blouses , dresses , and skirts are also fashion-forward items for this spring . Pair it with another hot color for both spring and summer , neon yellow , for those who dare .
You might have thought you left knits and all things crochet in the 70 ’ s , but they ’ re a spring reboot for fashionistas . Crocheted tops , vests , trousers , skirts , and purses will all be on trend . What I wouldn ’ t give for a few of those pieces I had back in the day now , specifically the lime green crochet vest that tied in front . Like they say , everything old is new again if you wait long enough .
For fun events out , think pleated skirts , bare midriffs , crop tops , and ultra mini skirts in bold shades and prints . Metallic sheens of gold and silver in shimmering fabrics are in as well as super sheer fabrics . Cleverly layer these for modesty . Accent with thigh high boots , lace leggings and embroidered hosiery . White isn ’ t the only spring color , however . Super feminine dresses and skirts in gorgeous , ultra-feminine colors such as pinks , lavenders and blushes are in . Ruffles are also back . Very “ ladylike ” clothes are a runway favorite .
If you want to be “ in ” think little this season : the little camisole or bralette worn subtly under a blazer , for example . But not when it comes to bags : the tiny shoulder bag is out to make way for the bigger and bulkier bag or purse , too . Yippee ! Great news for me .
Also think prints and textures for your wardrobe decisions . Options include the return of gingham . Yes gingham . Checks and floral prints are also trending now . Hopefully you kept that little shrug ; they ’ re back as well as lightweight cardigans in all the colors .
If you like straps , you ’ ll be happy ; they ’ re on everything from bathing suits to little tops . Even trousers can be edgy with a strapped waistband crisscrossing across the stomach . up for a wild feeling . No razor-sharp lines . Line your lips and use a lighter shade for a contrasted lip . Clear gloss will be everywhere . Bronzers are in for that sun-kissed look .
Now for the men . Yes you ! You also have fashion trends for spring and summer . Your wardrobe choices aren ’ t as complex as for women , but I know you like to be fashion forward deep down like the rest of us .
Varsity and safari jackets are in for men this spring and summer . They are casual but edgy enough to be worn out to dinner on a breezy evening . Those who like to wear shorts are in luck ; the oversized Bermuda short is back in style and can be worn with sandals , nice tennis shoes , or loafers .
Flared trousers are in style , as well , whether Wranglers dress jeans , corduroy flared trousers , or slim-fit flared checked wool trousers – all light weight of course .
It ’ s time to spring for some new polo shirts in all colors , too . Long and short sleeves , button-up polos with or without pockets should be your first choices . They can be casual or dressy depending on the fabric . Cotton and knit polos are the most popular . Strong collared shirts are always in style for dress or the office . Both regular and slim fit are options in solids , stripes , or checks . Try spicing up your shirt with a vest . Yes , vests are back . Cable knits , pleated or leather vests are all in for spring .
Casual long-sleeve crew tees and waffle-knit cotton-jersey tees are great with jeans . Short sleeves are always in too . Just be sure to bring that cute polo jacket to wear over it if going out to dinner .
