ina Tovar, 50, launched the Windermere Real
Estate brokerage with her business partner, Ruth
Garcia, in April of 2018. They opened a downtown Gilroy
offi ce last year. Previously she was with The Syndicate Real
Estate Group, which she founded in 2011 after earning
her broker’s license. Tina fi rst began honing her real estate
skills nearly 20 years ago, and in 2002 after earning her real
estate license, she decided to make it her full-time career.
Earlier, she worked for Windemere Real Estate in Evergreen
Valley. During the 1990s, her focus was in the fi eld of human
resources staffi ng and recruiting services. She founded
Recruiter’s Edge, a San Jose-based staffi ng company serving
clients including Lifeguard HMO and the Santa Clara Valley
Water District (Valley Water), and worked for a time as a
recruiter in the Human Resources Department at the Oakland

offi ces of Southwest Airlines. Tina grew up in San Jose and
attended Evergreen Valley College. She is a member of the
Gilroy Chamber of Commerce. On the heels of the 2019
Gilroy Garlic Festival she supported fundraising initiatives for
#GilroyStrong and #GilroyStronger, helping to raise $50,000
and deliver a donation check to the Gilroy Foundation at
a local vigil. In the Fall of 2019 she organized a Halloween
costume drive on behalf of the Edward Boss Prado Founda-
tion. Tina also donated a tree to this year’s Festival of Trees
fundraiser in Gilroy. Tina and her husband, Carlos Tovar, who
works for the Santa Clara Valley Water District (Valley Water),
have made Gilroy their home since 2000. They are the proud
parents of two daughters: Alexis and Lauren, who co-own
Luxe Beauty Bar in Gilroy; and two granddaughters.
