There’s a passion in our community about our future.” Steve Cox President Anaerobe Systems S teve Cox, 34, is President of Morgan Hill-based Anaerobe Systems. In 2000, Steve’s parents settled in Morgan Hill where his father Mike founded Anaerobe Systems. In 2006, Steve graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He had been helping out at Anaerobe since his youth, spending weekends and summer breaks sorting screws and organizing parts, then building simple equip- ment and working the assembly line, and during college, working part time in engineering, automation, and designing the company’s anaerobe chamber. Steve learned every job at Anaerobe Systems, and in 2016 he was named President of the company. He was introduced to Morgan Hill’s community service organizations by his parents. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Morgan Hill Community 26 GILROY • MORGAN HILL • SAN MARTIN Foundation, he has co-chaired the annual Philanthropy event and served on various committees. He has also volunteered with the Edward Boss Prado Foundation. As a Board member with the South Valley Science & Engineering Fair, he has helped with a ‘safety review’ of youth projects, invited students to conduct lab work at Anaerobe offi ces, and acted as a resource to teachers. Steve remains connected to his alma mater, SJSU, hosting a summer student internship, serving as a community/industry representative on the search committee for a new dean of science and math, and hosting dean and faculty tours of Anaerobe’s labs for internships and programs. Steve’s wife, Stacy, is a Nurse Coordinator with the Cancer Center at Stanford Hospital. They live in Morgan Hill with their two children: Connor, a Second Grader; and Chloe, who starts Kindergarten next year. WINTER 2020 gmhtoday.com
