Also, most all of the high schools and junior high schools in the Gilroy and Morgan Hill area have their own school-based the- ater programs. Supporting these groups is essential to the development of our community. And what could be more rewarding than knowing that attending one of their performances directly supports the enrichment of a child and provides the funding to continue these programs? The seminal event in American history blazes to vivid life in this most unconven- tional of Broadway hits. It’s the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence… if only our found- ing fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, and Richard Henry Lee and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia as they attempt to convince the members of the second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the shackles of the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence. “1776” puts a human face on the pages of history as we see the men behind the national icons: proud, frightened, uncer- tain, irritable, charming, often petty and ultimately noble fi gures determined to do the right thing for a fl edgling nation. It may sound bizarre, but dryer sheets are your go-to for removing soap scum buildup on your shower doors. The ingredients meant to soften fabric and eliminate static also break down soap scum. Simply wet the dryer sheet and scrub your shower door in a circular motion. If a milky fi lm remains, wipe it away with some glass cleaner. After all your spring cleaning work is done, don’t forget to treat yourself. You could buy fresh fl owers or a new potted plant to add a splash of life and color to your home. Those little extra touches will help liven up your home and ensure that you start the season with a spring in your step.
