the school and the lives they give the
horses as well as the riders was truly
amazing to encounter.”
As mentioned earlier in this article,
river level is paramount for cruising
on the Rhine and Danube. Because of
the low level, we traveled by bus to
Budapest, Hungary, missing the famous
water entry by ship. However, we
stayed in a beautiful hotel overlooking
the Chain Bridge, the first span to ever
connect the two halves of the city, Buda
and Pest, when it opened in 1849.
Budapest is a beautiful city. Lisa
Faria captured the spirit of this
jewel when she noted, “Walking
through the amazingly beautiful and
historical city of Budapest at night was
truly amazing. After a day of viewing
the city and learning the history, the
true magic was at night. The city is
lit up and the river runs calmly. The
people in the street were fantastic.”
Our river cruise itinerary was
Amsterdam to Budapest; however, there
was interest in visiting Prague, in the
