our legacy, our treasure Although the Santa Clara Valley is the oldest winemaking region in California —with the first varietals brought here from Spain in 1777—it has been a long road to the thriv- ing industry we see today. It's hard to think of our growing wine industry without thinking "we've come a long way baby.” But from the increasing number of wineries to the quality of the wines they produce, it is undeniable that our South Valley wine industry is bursting with potential and alive with a very promising future.
