parents with children aged six and younger.
Free access to all of the Online 24/7 materials and to
multitudes of software is available through the library’s full
service computers. They are loaded with Microsoft Office,
Adobe Creative Suite, Resume Deluxe, multiple internet
browsers and more.
Research
Many households used to have a set of encyclopedias for
kids’ homework or general knowledge. Today’s online search
engines, such as Google, offer similar information with
immediate access. But research in this manner is sometimes
unreliable. Teachers often insist that the sources for research
projects come from verified sources. The Research tab on
Online Library 24/7 includes access to academic subjects,
literature, cultures and communities, and history and
biographies among others. You can still get immediate access
to information, but it comes from multiple legitimate sources
on your computer, phone, or tablet.
The Kids' Online Library is an entirely separate set of
resources and activities for children. The Teens' Online
Library provides the same thing for kids in the upper grades.
LIVE AND ONGOING LIBRARY PROGRAMS
The days when the library was a hallowed place, where
librarians spent much of their day shushing overly loud
patrons is far gone. Now, the library contains computers,
study tables, study rooms, yoga and Zumba classes, book
clubs, story time, music lessons, art instruction, movies,
family movies, crafts, computer and coding classes.
There are story times for babies, toddlers, and grade
school kids: Pajama Storytime, Spanish Storytime, Toddler
& Preschool Storytime, and Rhythm, Rattle & Rock
Storytime. The children’s and teen’s librarians promote a wide
variety of literacy activites because literacy also develops
through hands-on projects and problem solving.
The Reading Program pairs tutors with adult learners to
improve their literacy, math, and computer skills. If you’re

Ongoing events include Book Discussion on the last
Tuesday of the month at 7 pm, and the same discussion
for morning folks on the first Friday of the next month at
10:15 pm. Work up an appetite for dinner, or burn it off,
with Zumba every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. For a
more sedate activity, join the Knitting and Crochet circle
on Thursdays at 1 pm. Creative Writers meet on the first
