Charles Pilon
The Queensland golf industry capped off an
exceptional year at the 2015 QGI Awards on the Gold
Coast last night honouring the state’s best.
The evening recognised the achievements of
those from the Queensland Division of the PGA of
Australia, Golf Managers Association QLD (GMAQ),
Golf Queensland as well as the Golf Course
Superintendents Association of QLD (GCSAQ).
With 25 awards presented, it was a strong
representation of the positive direction of the
Queensland golf industry.
Karis Davidson
Golf Queensland presented five awards, including
Carbrook Golf Club’s Bill Colman for Volunteer of the
Year, Charles Pilon for Junior Male Amateur Golfer of
the Year, Karis Davidson for Junior Female Amateur
Golfer of the Year, Anthony Quayle for Male Amateur
Golfer of the Year and Rebecca Kay for Female
Amateur Golfer of the Year, presented by Club Super.
Other notable winners including Richard Woodhouse
winning the coveted PGA Teaching Professional of the
Year. Junior Golf Program of the year was awarded to
Emerald Lakes Golf Academy with Headland named
as Club of the Year.
