Republic by Omar Farooq – Manga
The collection, as the name suggests is
inspired by Japanese comics, ‘Manga.’
Omar Farooq, as always comes up
with something savvy at every fashion
week. This wearable yet trendy
collection brings Athleisure to life on
the runway. The menswear designer
showcased a strong collection with
slouchy jackets, baggy sweatshirts,
loose pants along with the sleekly
cut ensembles. The edgy styling and
accessorising with fanny packs gave a
New York street style look that is very
refreshing for Pakistan. High-end
men’s fashion is always done right by
Omar Farooq.
Saira Shakira – Canvas
The ethos of this collection was
inspired by the work of artist Ian
Davenport. The bold aesthetic
juxtaposed perfectly with the
experimental yet wearable silhouettes,
especially with the chic black belts.
Not only did it bring some major
style statements to the ramp, the
brand managed to take inspiration
from Ian’s work in a very creative and
unique manner. From the dramatic
shoulders and sleeves to the nipped
waists and contemporary print, Saira
Shakira did bring something new to
the ramp, which was lauded by all.
We can easily say that the structured
draped tops and loose pants are sure
to become a major trend in 2018.
Nida Azwer – The Mughal Court
Nida Azwer’s prét collection made
a mark at PSFW’18 because of the
sleek silhouettes and the modern
cuts. The brand worked with a
pastel colour palette in blue, gold,
ivory and grey. Moreover, the frilled
necklines and statement sleeves were
seen dominating the runway this
time around. The intricate work on
the ensembles along with heavy 3D
embellishments on blazers and gowns
were definitely pleasing to the eyes.
