Pantene Hum Bridal Couture Week
8 Best Looks Straight from the Runway
Text By Saneela Jawad
T
he 15th edition of the most extravagant
bridal show of the year; Pantene Hum
Bridal Couture Week 2017 took place last
month in the city of gardens, Lahore. Much
like every other fashion week, the PHBCW was
an elaborate affair.
The event was attended by the who’s who of the
fashion and entertainment industry along with
the media persons and journalists. With more
than 25 designers showcasing the winter bridal
collections, the fashion week was crazier than
before. The event was a star-studded affair; we
spotted stars in the front row to the ramp, as
they show stopped for various designers.
As the three-day madness began, the GLOSS
team noticed a few trends on the ramp like
velvets, tassels and statement sleeves. While
most pieces failed to impress, there were a few
ensembles and a couple of collections that saved
the show.
Ali Xeeshan
This blue and pink tie-dye lehenga
by Ali Xeeshan from his collection
Denial with intricate detailing has
our heart. This lehenga is for an
unconventional bride, who wants
to go all out with colours. A social
message of child marriage was
highlighted through the collection,
which is Ali’s style, a message with
drama.
The designers that displayed their collections
included some well-known names and a few
debutants, like Fahad Husayn, Ali Xeeshan,
Mohsin Naveed Ranjha, Erum Khan, Amina
Yasmeen by Mansoor Akram, Aisha Kiani,
Demesne Couture, Maheen Taseer and Zonia
Anwaar to name a few.
The celebrity show-stoppers that we spotted
included, Shaan Shahid, Uzma Hassan,
Quratulain Baloch, Ahsan Khan, Ushna Khan,
Saba Qamar, Iqra Aziz, Yumna Zaidi, Zara
Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui and Asim Azhar
among others.
While most of the to-be-brides and grooms are
on a wedding dresse lookout, here are the top
8 picks by GLOSS spotted at Pantene Hum
Bridal Couture Week 2017.

Deepak and Fahad
Deepak and Fahad’s bridal collection
Shaahtaabi was showcased at BCW
2017 and we fell in love with this
green full-length ensemble pulled
off by Saheefa Jabbar. The maroon,
intricate work, velvet shawl and
green dupatta make up for its lack
of bling.
