On a plastic stool
Before a locked fancy shop
In a sunless corner of
A cheerless city street
A boy with eyes bright
Sits alone and sells masks,
Printed, plain, designed.
People, small and big,
Fat and thin,
Halt, haggle and snatch,
Some a pair, many a dozen.
