We never remarked our life was doused in it, contretemps,
dandled in the cracks of our family least, just yesterday.
We were inveigled with promises of change and adoration
by some of the charitable Samaritans,
But, we were treated like roving dogs, anorexic and evaded,
like a bedraggled soul, no obeisance with a person, an
unpriest, just yesterday.
We crawled along through the streets to auction our soul
and every limb with the belief we couldn't afford anything,
However, we found a life of pang, we were beggars leaning
on our next swallowing of that mortified cruel water
unpleasant, just yesterday.
