India’s bid for modernization
India‘s intention to opt for military modernization is reflected on its military
expenditure. Since 2006 India is gradually allotted more and more of its
resources to modernize its military. In an India‘s defence budget 2013-2014

K. Behera pointed out that India‘s defence allocation is spiraling by 5.3 per cent
to Rs. 2,03,672.1 crore (US$ 37.4 billion) and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram
made the customary promise that ―constraints will not come in the way of
