A society where everyone is equal in
terms of justice, economic and
political rights. State is not only the
ruling structure but the guardian of
the weakest. This assures that there
are places where you can be born as
a free human being and die as a
reputable citizen. Religion, politics
and economics is maintained at the
same pace without harming anyone,
keeping the balance towards
progress and faith towards justice
and progress.
If the nations of the Indian subcontinent are to develop, then they
are to set the sails first, construct a
framework for Effective Regional
Cooperation in terms of education,
human
development,
political
emancipation, trade, science and
technology and communication.
-
Constitutionally limiting the
power of the government,
Ensuring
parliamentary
representatives are eligible
and efficient,
Passing and implementing
the Bill of Rights and
Establishing the principle of
'consent of the governed'.
These are only the founding
principles or framework to build
up or transform a developing
nation state. It is also one that
can assure the continuity of this
process and a balance among
the different bodies of the
government.
However,
to
achieve this, government must
be held accountable.
In reality, countries on the
Indian subcontinent are yet to
achieve the true form of
government that will ensure the
rule of the government of the
people, for the people and by
the people. And until that is the
case, development in all its
facets will probably be limited
for these nations.

Over centuries of political history of
struggle and confrontation, Western
nation states have understood the
true meaning of Liberalism. Maybe
one party is not the winner all the
time, but it is the nation that keeps
its pace towards a sound flow of
development.
Like the 1688 revolution in England
and its outcome, foundations for the
development of the modern liberal
state needs to be built by

democracies and
their fundamental characteristics support for constitutions, free and
fair elections and pluralistic society had prevailed in most regions
around the world.
