Spring/summer 2014 fashion trends
Spring finally arrived. With temperatures nudging 18 degrees and the return of sun, many of us will be hitting the shops for some new spring/summer essentials. Here are four key spring/summer 2014 trends that you can buy and wear now.
1.Pastels
These days, warm weather fashion is synonymous with playful neons and bold jewel tones. But there's a new trend in town, and it makes a style statement that's soft and girly and awesome: Pastel! Wearing the pretty pale shades head-to-toe is unmistakably feminine.
2.Tropical florals
Tropical flora is hot for spring. You can wear a flowery shirt and wear it with bright white culottes. Probably the most recognisable trend was the paint swirls, colour-blocking and brush strokes seen at Chanel, Celine and Prada. This look is all about strong vibrant colour and interesting prints.
3.Denim
Even though it started out as simple men's workwear, denim has become a closet staple for everyone. And with an endless variety of indigo washes, specialty fabrics, and ever-evolving silhouettes, the styling possibilities are virtually endless. From shorts, skirts, and button-up shirts, chances are you have a few tried-and-true blues in your closet.
4.Spots
They've been a style staple for decades. Since they're incredibly versatile, lots of fun, and oh-so-cute, it's no wonder this particular print is a perennial summer favorite. Whether you're sporting just a few or assembling a full-on look, it's hard to go wrong when you're rocking dots.
