Why I Love Lisa Weakley MANAGING DIRECTOR Toronto and the Ontario Region A s one of the most multicultural cities in the world, there are countless reasons to visit Toronto. An amazing foodie scene, funky local bars and diverse shops and attractions, there truly is something for everyone in Toronto and its surrounds. The CN Tower is a must as its one of the most iconic structures in Canada – it’s hard to miss! The 553-metre tall tower can be seen from all over the city. You can't just admire the CN Tower from afar though so we took a trip up the tower to experience amazing views of the city, then took the elevator ride to th e top to access the observation deck - not for the faint hearted! Niagara Falls is a sight to behold and an easy day trip from Toronto. Whilst there are three sets of falls, the largest section, known as Horseshoe Falls, sees about a million bathtubs of water fall over its crest line every minute, which is just breathtaking. The Hornblower Cruise to the base of the falls is a powerful experience. Just two hours north of Toronto you will find the Blue Mountain Resort which overlooks the pristine waters of Georgian Bay. There is so much you can do from hiking, cycling, caving, golfing or skiing. There are lovely boutiques to browse, dining and entertainment along the pedestrian-friendly cobblestone streets of Blue Mountain Village. Further north, you can explore the ruggedly beautiful Bruce Peninsula National Park, a UNSECO World Biosphere Reserve. Interesting Fact Toronto’s Yonge Street is the longest street in the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. It’s 1,896 km long. Top Tip Just a 30-minute car journey from Niagara Falls lies Niagara-on-the-Lake, a beautiful and quaint town set beside the water. Take a stroll around the neighbourhood filled with historic architecture, gardens, boutique shops and elegant hotels; it’s not hard to see why Niagara-on-the-Lake was voted the prettiest town in Canada. Recommendation Canada really is the land of wild natural beauty, cosmopolitan cities and maple syrup. With so much to see and do, I think Canada is the perfect place to explore. I recommend staying at The Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto, a luxury hotel which caters for families. Kids welcome pack on arrival and warm cookies and milk in the evening was a hit with our daughter.
