COTC Project Moves Forward
USA: The fully integrated Crude Oil to Chemicals( COTC) complex is on track to become the largest of its kind in the world.
It will become a major contributor to Saudi Vision 2030, enabling a new era of industrial diversification, job creation, and technology development in the Kingdom.
The complex has been expected to process 400,000 barrels per day of Arabian Light crude oil, which will produce approximately nine million tons of chemicals and nine million tons of fuels per year. Also notable, it is projected to achieve a direct conversion rate from crude oil to chemicals of up to 50 %, which is unprecedented globally.
Equity house True acquires stake in Frugi
UK: Frugi, Brand has been acquired by private equity house True. Frugi, known for offering sustainably-sourced organic cotton apparel and accessories for babies, children, and new mothers has also got a new Chief Executive who will support the growth of the brand.

Kraig Biocraft Lab Accelerates its Production
USA: Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Inc., the developer of spider silk based fibers, had announced to advance its production ramp-up plan for Prodigy Textiles Co. Ltd.
The company has already received its business license for Prodigy Textiles and its investment authorization for up to $ 2.2 million to fund the first phase of its spider silk commercialization scale up efforts in Quang Nam.
This approved first phase includes the importation of the company’ s hybrid silkworms and production of Prodigy Textiles’ unique high performance silk. the company requested an acceleration of the project schedule, including authorization and the investment license for the second phase of operations, with a total investment cap of up to $ 50 million.
The second phase of the company’ s investment plan includes the development of a 50 hectare parcel of land and the construction of a new dedicated factory, designed to support the company’ s five year expected recombinant spider silk production output needs. The company has already begun to work with a local architectural firm to develop the plans for this unprecedented facility and spider silk production complex.

Reliance buys additional stake in GCL
Mumbai: Reliance Industries’ subsidiary Reliance Brands has acquired an additional 8 per cent stake worth Rs 34 crore in Genesis Colors Limited( GCL), a luxury fashion firm. It previously acquired 40 per cent stake from L Catterton. This additional acquisition is in line with the company’ s objective to fully acquire the Genesis Luxury group. This acquisition has taken the brand’ s total stake to 9.29 per cent, as according to the filing, the company bought 8.14 per cent equity stake in the luxury fashion retailer for around Rs. 34.17 crores. The luxury fashion group had a tentative annual turnover of Rs 86.02 crore in the last fiscal year and a turnover of Rs. 80.04 and 114,16 crores in the previous fiscal years.

Saif-Kareena to launch ethnic wear line
Mumbai: Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor will soon launch their ethnic-wear brand for both men and women.
The brand which is yet to be revealed is likely to be named‘ The House Of Pataudis’. The couple is currently in talks with designers to know more about the fashion industry.
The couple will launch their line, whichaims to bring back fabrics and styles from the royal gharanas, by the second half of this year.
Any confirmation from Saif- Kareena is yet to be announced on this matter.
