6 Nations 2014
WALES 51 SCOTLAND 3
Wales finished off their 2014 campaign with a record breaking 51-3 victory over Scotland at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. The match had controversy after 20 minutes when Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg became the first Scottish back in history to be sent off for a dangerous late shoulder on Dan Biggar. Wales had already opened the try scoring through Liam Williams by this time but it was all plain sailing for the Welsh after Hogg’s dismissal. Warren Gatland’s side went on to score two more tries in the first half with juggernauts George North and Jamie Roberts both crossing the whitewash. The three tries and excellent goalkicking by Biggar gave the Welsh a 27-3 lead at the break and a Scottish fight back was looking extremely unlikely. It was business as usual for Gatland’s side after half time as the same pairing of North and Roberts both crossed for their second tries. The Welsh side went on to score further tries through Taulupe Faletau and Rhodri Williams to make the scoreline even worse for the weary Scots. Wales Ultimately finishing 3rd in the trophy race.
