Greek grape New grapes on the block! As the industry leaders of table grape production in Greece, we are constantly expanding our new variety portfolio, and to do so we plant test blocks to see how they react in specific conditions. Our pioneering test block in Greece is around 0.2 hectares and has been planted with five very new ARRA varieties. Produced from the Grapa breeding programme, these new grape varieties have improved characteristics when compared to the more traditional grapes found in the region. A few of the advantages of these new grapes on the block include better shelf-life and longer cold-storage ability, a greater yield, more resistance to rain and an improved taste and appearance. Our Senior Procurement Manager Dimitris says: “This year our grapes are growing very well and we are expecting even better quality than the previous seasons. The new varieties that we are testing are very promising and we’re excited to see how they respond and grow in the optimum conditions of Greece.” Amazing ARRA 15 in India There was huge news in June as the first commercial harvest of our Indian grown ARRA 15 (ARRA Sweeties ™) took place.
