fantasy poker manager | TOP pickS top players to draft for the 2014 WSOP FANTASY POKER MANAGER Looking for inspiration for your 2014 WSOP FPM team? We talked to some of the game’s biggest stars and persuaded them to reveal their top three picks Daniel Negreanu David Tuchman Chad Holloway with six bracelets and 69 WSOP cashes, negreanu knows the WSOP better than most Twitter: @RealKidPoker WSOP livestream play-by-play announcer, Editor American Poker Player Magazine Twitter: @TuckOnSports Senior News Editor at PokerNews, 2013 World Series bracelet winner Twitter: @ChadAHolloway 1 phil ivey He still has bracelet bets on the line and he absolutely loves the WSOP grind. He had an off year last year, but the new schedule, with both a $10k Razz and $10k Stud, plays into his favor. 2 Scott Clements The kid is a beast. He plays all the games well and plays a full schedule. He’s a real threat in no-limit hold’em, but even more so in Omaha HL. 3 Scott Seiver Scott has been on fire lately playing no-limit events, but that’s not why I’m picking him. He is another guy who plays all the games really well and he wants to win just as bad as anyone. He loves to play poker and it’s obvious when you sit at a table with him that there is no other place he would rather be. 1 Jacob Schindler Jake has a strong cash game background and he’s been trying his luck at tournaments. He cashed in seven events last year, but his best finish was 10th. I think he breaks out this summer. 2 Mukul Pahuja Mukul has been a regular on the circuit for some time. He is yet to win a major title, and has less than $50k in lifetime cashes at the WSOP, but his confidence is running high and that can go a long way. 3 Owais Ahmed If you’re looking for someone to get you points in the mixed events, look no further. He’s matured since his breakout year in 2011 and his game today is even more disciplined and patient. He’s going to play most of the smaller fields and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t make a final table. 1 Phil Hellmuth I wouldn’t choose Hellmuth for fantasy poker at any other time, but when it comes to the WSOP no one tries harder than the 13-time bracelet winner.   2 Phil Ivey I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but when it comes to the WSOP, Phil Ivey has waxing and waning years, and 2014 is the former. I expect some big things from the nine-time bracelet winner, especially since this is the last year for his famed bracelet bets. That means you can expect him to play a full schedule and to play it hard.   3 Scott Clements There are few players that play as disciplined and dedicated as Clements. He is a consummate professional and he’s going to put up results. I’d like to have him on my team any day. 40 Global Poker Index 2014 WSOP 40_FPM Feldman_v2dw.indd 40 19/05/2014 15:19
