Megatrends
Even the term ‘talent’ no longer means the same as ten years ago; many of
the roles, skills and job titles of tomorrow are unknown to us today. With
automation and ‘thinking machines’ replacing human tasks and jobs, this
ultimately changes the skills that organisations are looking for in their people.
These momentous changes raise huge organisational, talent and HR challenges
at a time when business leaders are already wrestling with unprecedented risks,
disruption and political and societal upheaval.
There are a number of key considerations upon which many economists and
thought leaders agree; known as megatrends because of their global, sustained
and macro-economic forces, their impact is felt across business, economy
and society. They instil a permanent and significant change to our lives, often
permeating through the self-imposed lines between ‘work’ and ‘life’, thereby
defining our future world and its increasing pace of change.
The Adecco Group identified six Global megatrends which are shaping the new
world of work.
