Pasta is the staple food of Italian cuisine predominantly made from the dough of semolina durum wheat flour.
Pasta can be categorized as ready-to-cook (RTC) and ready-to-eat (RTE). It can be distinguished on the basis
of different shapes the dough is molded into. There are more than 300 varieties of pasta shapes available
across the world.
RTC (Ready-to-Cook) Pasta: It
has all the ingredients and is
semi-cooked. It only requires
addition of condiments to
obtain the final version of the
dish.
RTE (Ready-to-Eat) Pasta : It is
the instant pasta which has
tastemaker packed along and
only heat (and at times water)
is required to bring it to an
edible state.
