Product Overview
Cenospheres are the alumina - silicate microspheres that are obtained as a by-product from coal power stations. Thermal power plants
produce fly ash that consists of alumina and silica, which are converted into cenospheres by further processing. They are produced at a
temperature of 1500-1750°C. Cenospheres are harvested from fly ash ponds that are the disposal areas of fly ash. Cenospheres obtained
from these ponds vary in color from grey to white and their size ranges from 1 to 500 microns. The chemical composition of cenospheres
varies on the basis of
silica, alumina, iron oxide and titania content. Additionally, they have wide variety of applications in ceramics,
plastics, oil and gas, construction and many other end use industries.
