Global Judicial Integrity Network Updates Special Edition 'Views' Review | Page 3
Introduction
Officially launched in April 2018, the Global Judicial Integrity Network promotes
opportunities for dialogue on good practices and experiences in the implementation of
judicial integrity-related standards as one of its objectives. These opportunities advance
the exchange of knowledge and mutual support, as well as to draw attention to new
challenges and offer food for thought for judges and judiciaries worldwide.
To achieve this objective, the monthly ‘Views’ series was created along
with the founding of the Network. The ‘Views’ pieces are opinion
editorials on key issues of judicial integrity written by judges and judicial
experts. This series has provided a platform for Network participants to
share their opinions with their peers and fellow participants.
The ‘Views’ series has become one of the key features of the Network’s
website (www.unodc.org/ji) and has received many positive accolades.
Due to this interest, all of the 2018-2019 ‘Views’ pieces have been compiled
here for Network participants and other interested parties. The present
compilation contains articles that were originally published on the
Network’s website. Thanks are due to all contributors who shared their
valuable experiences and made the ‘Views’ series a success.
Please note that all opinions expressed in this publication are the opinions
of the authors, who are external experts, and do not necessarily reflect the
official position of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
