demanding international education
that will challenge students to
become responsible and effective
world citizens. Washington

a coeducational day school, serves
900 students in Pre-Kindergarten
through Grade 12 on two campuses in
northwest Washington, DC. The
multilingual Pre-K to Grade 12
curriculum includes rigorous
preparation in all academic and
artistic areas, culminating with the
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Diploma Program. The school’s
mission is to provide a demanding
international education that will
challenge students to become
responsible and effective world
citizens.
The School Without Walls
(www.swwhs.org) is a small public
magnet high school in the District of
Columbia. Students are admitted on
the basis of academic qualifications
and an interview and represent all 8
wards of the city. SWW is located on
the George Washington University
(GWU) campus, and through a
partnership between the schools,
SWW students have the opportunity
to take classes at the university.
SWW provides a quality studentcentered environment that maximizes
integrative, interactive, experiential
learning within the framework of a
humanities approach. This program is
achieved by using the city and the
world as a classroom. The school is a
model of collaboration among
students, staff, families, business
partners, and the community.
