One Mission Society
Global Impact Report 2019-20
As a child, I loved the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000. I easily identified
with the boy who had five barley loaves and two small fish. In the John 6
account of this story, we see no indication of this child holding back from
Jesus what he had:
“Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed
them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.
And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, ‘Gather up the leftover
fragments, that nothing may be lost.’”
The result was 12 baskets filled with leftovers. How did this happen? It was through the miracle of multiplication.
God took this boy’s lunch and multiplied it to feed 5,000 people. Amazing!
At One Mission Society, we still believe in multiplication. Yes, we invest strategically in our work around
the world to see disciples, churches, missionaries, and leaders multiply. And we trust in this same God to
help us engage the one to reach the many. We pray, “Lord, take our efforts and multiply them and the
resulting impact for the glory of Christ!”
Included in this 2019–20 Global Impact Report are stories from around the world that reflect this principle
of multiplication. We are all thrilled when we see it happen because we know it is evidence of God’s
enablement and blessing, coupled with our willingness to faithfully place our five barley loaves and two
small fish into his hands.
Praying you’ll be inspired and encouraged,
