In April it is cold in Japan; cold enough for
people to be wearing scarfs, but of course
the Japanese were not phased. Men were
walking around wearing Japanese mawashi
(Loincloth), the thing that Sumo wrestlers
wear. There were exposed butt cheeks
everywhere. And while I started this festival
with high hopes, a game plan, and a solid
stoic face thinking I wasn’t going to be that
immature American who couldn’t contain
themselves. Little did I know what I was in
store for, half naked people, transgender
M-to-F people, dicks for days -- Shirts, candy,
flags, towels, name it and it’s there. Everyone
was free, open and happy and a few shots of
free Sake later I was cheering, and making a
snapchat story for the books. Check this out!
