+ The next Onbashira is April-May
2024.
+ It is very difficult to find public trash
bins, so take a bag with you because
you are bound to carry around rubbish
for a while before you find a bin.
+ Official Onbashira information will
make it seem impossible to attend the
event without a ticket. This is simply
untrue. Having a ticket will make it
easier, (you will be driven up the hill)
and you are guaranteed a fairly good
spectator seat for the major parts of the
festival, but a ticket is not a necessity.
+ If you want to get professional shots
of the event, buy a press pass. Having
one gives you access to seats on the
hill with unobstructed views and by far
the best angles. Look into this a year in
advance.
+ Join in! While the logs are being
hauled through the city streets anyone
can chip in and help give a tug. There
were a few people who were asking for
foreigners to join in the fun. Don't be
afraid if you are waved down.
+ Prepare for free Sake. It is literally
everywhere you turn, we don't suggest
getting intoxicated but get lit if you want
to!
