NOT THE EDITOR
Letter from the editors
The first leg of the Ilk Tour has come to a brilliant close and we want to share the unique
vibes from the Holi festival. As promised we will show adventure, give alluring tips, and highlight
talented people we met during our travels! We love to think of our readers engaging with and
eventually experiencing the festivals we visit around the world.
The idea for this magazine stemmed from our desire to change the way travel is presented.
We don’t want to clutter our videos with excessive narrated information. We aren’t the History
Channel. Instead, we put those details here for those of you who are craving more. We are pulling
away from the one article blogging mentality. This also gives us a place to spotlight interesting
characters. We have mad love and respect for the creatives we met during our travel, and this is the
best way for us to let them show off a bit. We never say no to working with badass creatives.
This adventure begins on the cover and walks you through India with a strong emphasis on
the festival of color (a.k.a. Holi). This magazine is an interactive art piece crafted for you. On the
latter pages you'll find vivid and expressive photo spreads embedded with hyperlinks to give you a
richer, more immersive, look into Holi. Each spread has a red box in the bottom left corner of the
page. Clicking on that box will take you to a video that relates to the content of that page. Can we
get a hell yea for the beauty of digital magazines!?
Of course keep in mind this magazine venture is still very much a work in progress. As we
are closing this issue, we already see what to change in the future, and we have no doubt you’ll tell
us what else we can do to improve. Global Ilk is your company. We don’t do this for the money, we
do this for you. Live your dreams, experience something new and know we’re right there with you.
