The Emergency & Trauma Centre is one of the state ’ s busiest private emergency departments . Regency Specialist Hospital is the only private hospital in Malaysia with an Accident and Emergency Department ( A & E ) that has emergency physicians standing by 24x7 to offer immediate , round the clock support to all patients . It has a team of experienced emergency physicians supported by a multi-disciplinary team of specialists who have access to investigational infrastructural requirements . The centre also has certified nurses who have an Advance Diploma in Emergency Care ( ADEC ). This formidable level of experience and expertise allows the team to render efficient , high quality , and timely care that is suited to patients ’ health needs .
Well-Equipped For Emergencies
The Emergency & Trauma Centre has state-of-the- art , well-equipped facilities and services including an A & E department ; radiology ; a laboratory ; an operating theatre ; a cardiac catheterisation laboratory ; an intensive care unit ( ICU ) or high dependency unit ( HDU ); and physiotherapy & occupational therapy .
The centre has 9 stretcher beds within the red zone for critical and life-threatening cases , and yellow zone for semi-critical cases requiring treatment or observation . This enables it to provide first-hand emergency specialist care to patients with potentially serious acute illnesses or injuries that require immediate medical attention , even while waiting for the arrival of the specialty Consultant .
Given the infrastructure and the experienced healthcare teams on duty , the centre is in a position to manage comprehensive range of both life- threatening emergencies and minor illnesses and injuries such as acute ischemic stroke and heart attack ( myocardial infarction ); traffic or work-site accidents which involve fractures and bone dislocation ; burn cases ; obstetrical emergencies ; seizures ; poisoning and drug overdose ; dengue fever and influenza ; and asthma , choking , breathing difficulties and allergic reactions .
