The Grand Alumni Homecoming
Dunedin Diaries
Aimed at encouraging an enriching curriculum beyond classrooms, our 3rd batch consisting of 21 students
visited New Zealand in September on a 10 day Student Exchange Program in association with St. Hilda ' s Collegiate School, Dunedin. The cultural exchange programme was choc a bloc with stimulating activities wherein our students visited a chocolate factory, went sailing to see whales, sighted albatross in gorges and enjoyed the amazing beaches while infusing the heritage of the country.
Historic win for Liyana
Liyana Fathima Umer( Grade 6) won a gold medal for Kerala in the 50m Freestyle at the 33rd National Sub Junior & Junior Aquatic Championship held in Bangalore in July. This is Kerala ' s 1st medal in 20 years in the National Sub Junior Group 3 event.
Eesha Boby( Grade 5) and Liyana Fathima had qualified for the National Level Swimming Championships after their meet record-breaking feat at the 43rd State Level Junior and Sub Junior Swimming Championship hosted by Kerala Aquatic Association in Thiruvananthapuram in May 2016.
In the Ernakulam District Junior and Sub Junior Swimming Championship held in Kothamangalam in April 2016, Liyana Fathima and Akash Abraham clinched the Individual Champions trophy.
GPS played the perfect hosts and welcomed all the former GPSites back to school in July, 2016. The“ Alumni Meet-2016” was an action packed one with friendly football and basketball matches between the former and present students. The current students entertained the alumni with dance and games. It was definitely an emotional day replete with nostalgia as the alumni met their teachers and friends at their beloved alma mater.
