There are no trade restrictions on imports of cars and automotive components from the United States, other than import duties. All auto-parts imported to Slovakia must comply with the criteria given by the producer of the car for which the part is to be used. It is the obligation of the importer to obtain these criteria from car manufacturers. If given criteria are met, no additional requirements are applied, regardless of the component being new, used or remanufactured. Most imported automotive parts need no approval before being sold in Slovakia, although some parts must meet EU standards and obtain approval.
