The importance of both the CNG and LPG markets allows Italian components manufacturers to be among the leaders in this specific market niche.

Among the automotive components, the best suited for remanufacturing are tires. According to Airp’s (the Italian Tire Retreaders Association www.asso-airp.it/index_en.php) estimates, every year Italian consumers who choose reman tires over the new ones save, on average, €69 million. Italy saves, on average, 29.4 million liters of oil and 21,600 tons of other strategic raw materials yearly. In 2015, the 39 companies associated to Airp produced more than 430,000 units. There are around 90 Italian companies in this specific industry, employing more than 2,500 people.

It is to be noted that, when referring to the reman market in Italy, the main sector is represented by industrial and commercial vehicles: the reman industry is closely linked to the road haulage (a key sector of the National industry).
