EDITORS NOTE
“It’s a new era in
fashion - there are no
rules. It’s all about the
individual and personal
style, wearing high-end,
low-end, classic labels,
and up-and-coming
designers all together
”
- Alexander McQueen.
This issue, being our maiden edition has
been a journey for me – an inspirational
one. Amidst the turmoil in several
African countries, we cannot deny that
there is a lot for this great continent
to offer the world in terms of culture,
tourism, entertainment and even
fashion. African fashion is fast taking its
place in the international scene, with
high street and high end fashion outlets
dedicating an entire collection to African
inspired pieces, and with several African
designers showcasing their designs to
the world at International fashion shows.
Glam Africa is here to celebrate the
Africans and businesses behind these key
creative industries which we believe in a
few years would create a new meaning to
the word ‘Africa’. Join us on this journey
to discovering some of Africa’s hidden
beauty.
In this issue, we speak to one of Africa’s
most popular and controversial actor,
Jim Iyke. And for the first time in a while,
he addresses some of the controversial
issues surrounding him. We take you
through some runway trends from
around Africa, holiday getaways in Africa
you should put down on your bucket list
and hangout spots inspired by Africa
within London.
As cliché as it sounds, it is a must-read!
