ach year on Thanksgiving, Father Joe’s
Villages holds their Thanksgiving Day 5K
to raise funds and awareness for their
programs feeding hungry neighbors in
need. This iconic San Diego tradition
aids homeless individuals in gaining back their independence
through vocational training courses. By joining Father Joe’s
Villages Annual Thanksgiving Day 5K, participants are not just
helping feed people for a day, they are helping give them the
skills to feed themselves for a lifetime.

In addition to a short walk or run through beautiful Balboa Park,
this turkey trot also offers a variety of fun activities for the whole
family, including live music, a beer garden, an optional pre-race
Catholic Mass, pictures with Santa and more.
However, one of the most popular features of the event is the
famous homemade pies that participants can bring home to
their families each year.
