Ivana at the Senior Chalk Walk
showing her Cornell Pride
Ivana was accepted to seven colleges and universities across the
U.S. including Claremont McKenna College, Cornell University,
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Pepperdine
University, University of San Diego, University of Southern
California, and Wellesley College. She garnered more than
$200,000 in merit-based scholarships and has committed to
Cornell University in the fall, where she said she fell in love with
the school instantly.
Ivana’s academic focus is in Industrial and Labor Relations with
a minor in International Relations. “From the student internships,
summer employment opportunities, study abroad programs, to
the research fellowships, Cornell gives me the worldly experience
I want,” Ivana shared with Giving Back Magazine. “Cornell’s
curriculum, advanced electives and opportunities to work with
diverse institutions were very attractive to me.”
During her time at OLP, Ivana excelled in her academic
endeavors while balancing numerous co-curricular opportunities.
Ivana served as a Peer Tutor, a Student Ambassador and the
Commissioner of Mission and Ministry, which included leading
students in daily prayer. She also co-founded the G.I.V.E. club
(Get Involved, Value Experience), which empowers students to
serve their local community. She also participated in French Club,
Mock Trial, Peace Commission and the Speech and Debate team.
“OLP has transformed me into a confident woman and I feel well
prepared to pursue my dreams,” Ivana shared proudly. “OLP is a
special place that builds leaders and changemakers by fostering
an environment where students are challenged and supported.”
Her advice for younger students? Branch out, take risks and
don’t be afraid to ask for help!
“Take advantage of all the opportunities you have around you.
At OLP, it is impossible not to get involved,” Ivana said. “Try
something new! If it seems interesting, go for it. If you find
out later it’s not your thing, that’s ok! High school is about
discovering yourself and finding passions that translate to the
greater good of society.”
