Regatta SAN DIEGO CREW CLASSIC Ringing in the New Year with a New Look F or many, the New Year is a time to commemorate the past and welcome the changes in the coming year. In anticipation of their upcoming regatta, the San Diego Crew Classic is embracing that tradition. For 47 years the Crew Classic has been a household name amongst rowers and boathouses across the country. This year, they are working hard to expand their offerings to everyone, not just the rowing community. The San Diego Crew Classic is expanding and reimagining the fan experience to reflect 42 GBSAN.COM | JANUARY 2019 the evolution the regatta is undergoing. Many of their initiatives are designed to benefit the local communities that have supported the Crew Classic since 1973 and engage a new generation of supporters. The San Diego Crew Classic is proud to unveil their new logo, the keystone of a total organizational rebranding effort. Like the Crew Classic regatta, the logo is deeply rooted in San Diego culture, evoking an image of the sun setting over the Pacific Ocean. The oars create a pleasant slope across the face that elicit movement and synchronicity. The Crew Classic board and staff are elated to share this new branding with you. The San Diego Crew Classic is more than just a rowing competition. San Diego is famous for its multifaceted and multicultural experiences, events and attractions. The Crew Classic is not only an athletic event with competitors at the peak of physical fitness, but a social gathering for enthusiasts to enjoy great local food, a beer garden stocked with San Diego’s legendary craft brews, and shopping, all while soaking in Mission Bay and the San Diego sunshine.
