-What is the secret of your success ?
-The secret of a success in math is very simple : love math , work hard , and don ' t treat math as a difficult subject . Most importantly , we should never be content with what we know .
- Please , can you tell us shortly about your research subject ?
- We can say that the elasticity of the body was instinctively used in the distant past in a variety of buildings , from wild huts to palaces and temples . Then elastic bodies are used by humans in the construction of railways and huge buildings , mechanical engineering and shipbuilding . The construction of the theory of shells is carried out by reducing the equations of the three-dimensional theory of elasticity without hypotheses of a simplified physical and geometric nature . One of these methods is the projection method , according to which the original problem is reduced to a two-dimensional sequence of tasks , and the process is regular if it is summarized in a certain sense . Using the projection method in the works of Ilya Vekua , a system of equations was obtained for thin and nonlinear shells of variable thickness , in other words , for shells of constant geometry in thickness . Modern requirements of science and technology require the study of nonlinear , non-shallow membranes , in other words , membrane bodies with variable geometry in thickness . Therefore , the development of a nonlinear theory of membranes for both linear and nonlinear cases is an important problem for both theory and practice . The object of my research are non-shallow bodies of shell type , with internal geometry ( metric ) of variable thicknes , when the displacement vector is independent from the thickness coordinate .
