The more I was immersed within American culture the more I became aware of
the great disconnect between my own
culture and the one I am temporarily
practicing. It became difficult to coordinate between the two.

I became a rebel of some sorts to the
eyes of my society back home (Kuwait),
because I have come to develop a
critical perspective on the cultural
norms of my people.
