Self care
Street harassment is emotionally draining,
and can even be triggering of past trauma.
It’s important that we recognize this, and
allow ourselves the space to process those
emotions. After being harassed, take time
to administer some self-care. Self-care is
any intentional steps you take to care for
your physical and emotional well-being. It
could be writing in a j ournal, taking a long
hot shower, eating a favorite food, or
going for a run. Self-care will help keep you
from getting overwhelmed and burnt out,
and will ensure that you are better able to
put your feelings on street harassment aside
and enjoy your trip.
