have to be brave and take them. Let them
lead you.
Who inspires you in the
fashion industry ?
Wow - so many women inspire my style.
I grew up in the 70s so I loved wearing long
floral dresses with permed hair. I love
women who have that similar style - India
Hicks, Alice Temperly, Bianca Jagger. I think
Aerin Lauder is incredible; she has a
certain style about her I love, very clean.
She doesn’t wear much make up. Her skin
always looks amazing.
Maya Angelou really inspired me, not just
her fashion style, but who she was as a
woman. She always gave beautiful
speeches about being a sister friend,
really inspiring talks. I’ve always considered
myself a woman’s woman.
What would your advice be for
Girls Going International, living
abroad away from their families?
I would advise them to be brave, take
opportunities and don’t be scared of the
world. Be kind. I think being kind to
everyone you meet is such an important
quality in being happy and making a
difference in someone else’s day.
‘I always take in all the beauty around me
when I’m travelling. I have so many friends
who spend their lives working, planning
and not being in the moment. I think it’s
important to appreciate your life.’
