Street harassment was once an unknown

term but has taken on prominence in recent
years. The unwanted attention in public places
can take many forms, from whistling, staring
and following to ‘catcalling’, groping and sexual
assault. All of these behaviors have one thing
in common: they are directed at someone
because of their actual or perceived gender
identity or sexual orientation.
We sent a survey out to learn more about the
experiences of Girls Gone International while
traveling and living abroad.
