Issue 9 | It’s our 3 year anniversary!
One thing all GGIs have in common - we have all
uprooted ourselves. Physically moving, mentally shifting, drawn into
a world of who knows where and what ifs. We tumble freely into
the unknown, into new cities, new people, new lives, new versions
of ourselves. For many of us, the idea of then, one day laying down
roots has become taboo, unfathomable or unrealistic.
Anne Scott | Editor in Chief
When we sat down to finish this issue we compared where we are
now, physically and mentally, from the first issue back in March 2013
and were suprised to see how (physically) grounded we have
become.
New mom Meghan has moved from Amsterdam back to her
hometown in the ‘States. Tina has moved to Abu Dhabi with her fur
babies and bought furniture. Me, Anne, I got a puppy, made a home,
lost my passport and have yet to replace it.

Tina Jones | Managing Editor
The laying of such physical roots has been a source of much inner
turmoil, doubt and battles. But we’ve learned that roots do not
restrict us - they allow us to nurture what’s important so we can
continue to grow and evolve, and connect us deeper to those in our
lives and most importantly, to ourselves.
Thanks to the support of our community managers and members,
GGI’s roots run deep throughout the world reaching 100
communities in 35 countries, with over 120,000 members. Some of
these women are featured in this issue – nomadic mothers, fearless
solo travellers and trendsetters, women who have come a long way
from where they started out.
Together we encourage you to dig deep, take care of yourself, your
relationships and your mind - you’ll journey further than you ever
imagined.
