GGI Asia Regional Manager, Michelle Ibarra, sat down
with the founding members of Ladyfest Shanghai to discuss the vision and mindset of some of the most passionate and influential women in Shanghai.

ABOUT LADYFEST
‘Ladyfest is a non-profit, community-based event designed
by and for women to showcase, celebrate and encourage
the artistic, organizational and political work and talents
of women.’ The first Ladyfest event was held in 2000 in
Olympia, Washington, USA, and since then have spread
throughout countries all over the world. These festivals
are organized locally by volunteers and although each
festival is unique, they frequently feature performances
by bands, spoken word artists, authors, visual artists and
include workshops, panels, and dance parties. Although
Ladyfest is designed by and for women, even men are
getting involved in the community-based events of
Ladyfest.
