Micro holidays
Building relaxation into your daily routine
may help you to get rid of leisure sickness
for good! Incorporate micro holidays into
your work day by taking a regular time out.
If it’s possible, try taking power naps or even
just a few deep breaths between tasks has
been shown to make a difference. Ensure
that you take deliberate rest on evenings
and weekends.
Acknowledge red flags
Our down time is precious – our health and
wellbeing depend on it. No one wants to
spend their holiday time in bed with the flu.
More importantly, leisure sickness should
be viewed as a red flag, a warning sign that
something is out of balance and needs
addressing. We can’t push our bodies to
breaking point and expect to thrive or even
endure… at some point it might break.
Support your system with exercise, optimal
nutrition and active relaxation.
Be good to yourself!
