GirlGI | Girl Gone International Issue 7 | Page 3

letter from the editor I’ve found that Girls Gone International always have the most interesting concept of ‘home’. Each one as unique as the next, the product of extraordinary life experiences and choices. It’s why GGIs exude confidence and self-assurance; it comes from conquering the world, country by country and trusting themselves enough to test their limits. Anne Scott | Editor in Chief The GGIs that contributed to this issue have found ‘home’ in many different ways and places. We meet nomadic GGIs, Danni and Trisha, who quit the 9 to 5 for life on the open road and Savannah Grace, who at the age of 14 left her teenage life behind for a four-year backpacking adventure. Sometimes ‘home’ is something we make, as evidenced by our GGI community managers who opened their homes to us, sharing how they’ve created a ‘home’ abroad. Other times, it’s found in the journey itself, as I was recently reminded. Meghan Klein | Creative Director While I’ve always maintained that home is wherever I am, it’s easy to forget when in the midst of transition. I’ve recently returned to my home country and was disappointed when it didn’t feel right. I found myself asking some really important questions. ‘Where in the world (literally) am I supposed to be?’ While I’ve yet to find the answer, I am happy to report that right now, at this exact moment, I’m meant to be nowhere other than here. I hope you have the same peace of mind. The journey isn’t always exciting or easy, but it’s these experiences that make us GGIs. They remind us of what’s important and why we’ve chosen this lifestyle. We don’t grow when things are easy; we grow when we face challenges. Tina Jones | Managing Editor Grow.
