1. Manage your Money
Make sure you and your partner have set some kind of
budget which includes the costs for transportation, food,
lodging, activities and souvenirs. Nothing causes more
quarrels than money!
2. Take a Break
Travel is a break from reality. Do NOT bring up work
related issues or anything related to your daily life.
Really talk to your partner. You would be surprised the
things you can learn about each other, no matter how
long you’ve been together.
3. Keep an Open Mind
Go into every trip with an open mind and the realisation
that most of your best laid plans are probably not going
to go perfectly. Fighting can ruin a trip and fights often occur due to stress. Go with the flow and don’t put too much
pressure on yourself or your partner to have the ‘perfect’
trip.
4. Give Yourself Time
Don’t cram too much into your itinerary as t hings
always take longer than expected. Trying to make it
in time for numerous reservations only adds stress.
5. Communicate Your Needs
Always let the other person know if you need to go to the
bathroom, eat or rest. These are three major discomforts
that often get overlooked while hustling from place to
place. Your partner can’t feel your hunger but they can
feel your frustration so make it easy on them and
communicate before your blood sugar level plummets!
