For the past three years,
I have continued to blog
- racking up more than
800 posts - about the
political situation and
human rights violations
in Yemen. Although the
stories sometimes make
me feel hopeless and
have been a source of
vivid nightmares, blogging helps me make
sense of the situation
at home. Through my
travels and talks, I meet
many young people
from all over the world
who tell me that my blog
makes them feel solidarity with the Yemeni
struggle for justice and
democracy. I am also in
close touch with Yemeni
activists and help them
with technical support,
social media or with
organizational matters.
Writing has shown me
that resistance is the
best response against
injustice and the sometimes inhuman practices
surrounding us.
